    Installation Issue

I am trying to install RAC 2012 onto my home PC and am having an issue and I'm not sure what the problem actually is. I downloaded the installer from the subscription site and started the extractor which all worked fine. However the extractor is taking FOREVER to extract all the data. So far it's been running, ever so slowly, for three days and isn't half-way there yet. Does this mean I need to upgrade my PC or is there something else that might be causing an issue that I could check?

I don't have the exact spec's offhand but: (I'll grab them at lunch / tonight)

    Win 7 32
    Processor: E6420, 2.13, 4M, Core Duo-Conroe, Burn 2
    2Gb Ram

I do plan on re-installing to x64 before too long and can upgrade the RAM then, but the board maxes at 4GB :banghead: It was bought about 2007

I would recomend looking at your hard drive... defrag it... Make sure you have enough free disk space???

Yeah the CPU is a tad slow and a bit old but it should be able to process the install file in like 1-3 hours.

It's more than likely a problem with the connection the Autodesk Server (The content packs are not included in the installer you have), and/or a folder permission error.

I went through and uninstalled a bunch of stuff the other day, not sure the total free space but it should be more than enough unless there is an error of some sort. The installer does process everything, just painfully slow.

I'll stop it and do some disk cleaning tonight and see what happens.

This is also the extraction pack that is creeping - I haven't even made it to the actual revit installer yet...

It seems the cold made it run slow. The Revit installer was up when I got home and it finished up fairly quickly. The extraction process took 3 days though... :banghead:

          Thanks for the assist.
