    Employment Thread....

I know its hard to find a job right now. Maybe this forum could be a place for people and employers to come and find work/workers. This idea hit me today.

People looking for work... Employers looking for people... A place where they can come together.

    Ideas? Comments? am I ?

      Alex,

I suggested this idea to the group of admins recently, exactly for the same reasons that you mentioned. After exchanging comments between the admins, we considered that the idea needed at least one of the admins to volunteer to be in charge of the Classifieds forum, to be a moderator/editor.

The idea is to have a forum where posts need to be submitted to the moderator for aproval before publication. Something similar to the way jobs announcements are posted in Steve Stafford's blog, where you cannot post freely but only after aproval. We see that as a good example to follow. He also sometimes posts updates about what happened to the job, if the position was filled, etc. The idea of the moderator/editor is to control spam, false advertising, etc., and to be as a figure in between the forum community and the prospective employers.

So far the discussion was left in stand-by, since all this voluntary work might demand some significant time. But since you brought up the issue again in this open forum, I guess it's time to open the discussion for anybody who would like to comment about pros and cons of this idea.
