    Bracing Offset Problem

    Hi people,

I was trying to offset my bracing in plan to show it offset from the adjoining beamsand came across this problem:

    Bracing.JPG

The 'Show brace above' section appears to be greyed out and I'm finding it really frustrating to ungrey it, or even find the problem :banghead:

I've tried restarting and all the usual IT solutions

Has anyone ever come across this before? Can anyway Help?

Thank you so much in advance

    Alex

    Welcome to the forum Alex.

The reason you can't select "Show Brace Above" is due to not having any "Connection Symbol" loaded into your project. I have attached one of the families I have so you can see what setting you need to have set in the family to make it a connection symbol.

Hope this helps you get going in the right direction. Come back if you have anymore questions.

      Thanks for the help Alex,

I managed to fix it by loading in the structural settings from another project, which I think is just a work around, where as you have given me the solution.

I now have a new problem. The bracing just appears as a thick black line instead of a dashed line.

If I put my curser on the bracing in it shows the line that I want it to show (As shown in the image)

I've tried changing it in it's family and by using the Visibility/Graphic Overides but to no avail, it's a real headscratcher for me.

Any help would be, as always, very much appreciated.

change your detail level to Medium instead of Coarse
I'm retired, if you don't like it, go around!
