    Custom Wall Reveal

    Hi guys,

I've created a custom wall reveal based on a system template. I'm wanting to simple make it so that the height of the reveal is 'changable' inside the model.

I've created workplanes and aligned them to the profile, however when I bring the reveal into the model the height and deoth parameters are no where to be seen.

Would someone mind taking a look at it for me please and letting me know what I've done wrong?

    Thanks.

your profile parameters need to be type parameters. You could make several "types" of profiles to suit your need, but if you want to change the properties of they types loaded go to "project browser / families / profiles, click on + to open types / right click on required profile, then down the bottom click on type properties.

Thanks for that Mark, got that working now. If I wanted the reveal to display a dimension that I could click on to change the height of the reveal how would I do that?

I thought attaching a dimension to the parameter would do the trick.

Nope, will not work with sweeps or reveals or any of the profile type of families.
You coud try making yourself a line based void family with instance parameters, could work ?
        Might have a play later.

Oh that's a bummer, but not to worry I can work around it, thanks Mark. Can I add other components to the reveal profile or is that not enabled either? I am hoping to place ferrules inside the reveal.

As Mark B noted, you'll need a linebased family for that kind of stuff.
