    Revit and anti-glare film?

    As much as I love my iMac, the fact that there is a large, bright window right behind me is a real problem with the glossy screen. I am looking into an anti-glare film, but I am a bit worried about the prismatic effect, which is most noticeable with small dark features against a white , i.e. the vast majority of Revit views. Anyone have any experience with Revit with a 3rd party anti-glare film?

    Those films don't sound too promising.

      We used to cut a box in such a way to cover the top of our monitors when I worked at Boeing using CATIA...and that was the old 24" monitors that weighed 100lbs...

        That's an idea. Get a huge refrigerator box and set your office up inside of it. :laugh:

          Hmm, well, I can't move the furniture, as the home office is built in to a closet. And the light source is a window, so also not movable. And I suspect not mitigable with a shroud, which does wonders for glare caused by overhead lighting. Yeah, the reviews are not promising, but the only other option is probably a couple hundred $ is window coverings, so I figured a little Revit specific research on the $40 solution was in order. Next idea, Ikea.

            Put tin foil on your window. I bet you'll get more work done. We all know you spend half the day staring out the window, and the other half on RFo. :laugh:

              Ah, I might prefer the glare to the "Pubescent gamer lives here" look. What's next, black plastic "decoration"? Marilyn Manson playing? Maybe worse, Justin Bieber? Ack!

                  Actually I have iTunes programmed to wipe the hard drive if bieber or brittany or back street boys or any other talentless tripe shows up.

                  It does occur to me that another solution is to turn the brightness WAY up and wear sunglasses. And yes, I do have "The Future's So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades" on my play list. And now we can officially call this a tangent.

                    I actually thought about that. I think you'll still have a bright spot on your screen from the glare, though.
