Remove 'Linework Work' From a View?

    Revit Faithful,

I have a few views that have been 'lineworked' to death (not by me) and I want to return the view to the original lineweights...essentially remove any linework operations that have been done to it.

Is there a simple way to do this that doesn't involve me making another elevation and copying all the notation and such over to it.

    Thanks,
    Drew

I'm pretty sure that if you duplicate with detailing, the linework will not be duplicated. Of course, all the annotation will be.
That's the easiest one, besides going over every line with the linework tool set to <by category>.

You may want to test it out first, though, as I'm not 100% sure. But it should work.

      Dan,

That is the ticket...Thank you. File this one under UBT: 'Undocumented but True'

Would love it if this was an option within the Linework Tool. I would imagine that something like <Reset Linework> could be achieved pretty easily programmatically. Factory can you hear me?

      Thanks Again,
      Drew

I bet there are a few API gurus here (Jose, I'm talking to you) that could probably get that done. That might not be a bad tool to have.

OR you just don't use it too much... Best tool ever.
Linework is ment to be an occasional override. So the "reset" tool is there already, change it back to <By Category>. Really don't see the problem. And no need for an API, cause you're solving a problem which is only there because somebody messed up. If we need an API for all the crazy stunts I've seen people pull with there model, Jose is going to be busy for the next few hundred years!

It has now been documented in the Revit WikiHelp. I have updated the Linework and Views topic to explain this behavior.

Now I just have to figure out how to get you guys to add this stuff yourself rather than me doing it. I can't catch EVERY good nugget.

I honestly never think about it. I never really use wiki anything. :hide:

                    Me neither.
Besides: I still stand the point of view that my vendor should write the manual. And you still didn't convince me that this is anything else then a fancy manual.
I also don't fill the wiki-pages from the guy who sells my tv...
