    Useful every day (at least for me....:-)

    Hi,
    after Padlock's thread, here's another one, not really tricky but VERY useful.
    Consider it as a reminder:
    when it comes to put a number in a cell, you are allowed in Revit to put some formula:

    ex: if your input should be: "3.50" , try "=78.50-75.00". the result will be calculated.

    works also with * , / , + and thanks to Mr Alfredo, pi().:thumbsup:

    don't forget it! :wine:

    PS: works also with dimensions.

    I use this when I am making bolts and stuff. where my paramets are half the full size... I put in 2.6875"/2 =1.34375"
    dont have to do the math then.

      I use metric, no math either. But I do use this on occasion, especially when adding different lengths in one.

          Okay, I'm a noob and don't understand. If you need 3.5 why not just type 3.5. What does making it a formula give you?

            Its more a case of using the formula instead of working it out with a calculator (ie: you dont know the result is 3.5)

              Dzatto, just faster to play with only one keyboard at a time.
              Also, rounding numbers could be a problem sometimes.

                Oh okay. I was thinking you knew the answer already. lol

                Yeah, that makes sense. Just type the formula in there if you know it. Cool. I'll have to remember that.
