    Roof issues.

I am having issues creating this roof. I am currently using three different roofs, one for the front gable, one for the long gable, and one for the flat section.

I am hoping someone has a few minutes to help me out with how the roof SHOULD be modeled. I have attached some reference photos.

    Thanks.

For the part with the gable and flat part it might be cleaner to do a roof by extrusion. As for the other gable you can select the join roof tool to connect it to the main roof

I think what I would do is, make the main pitch roof that has that flat little bit with roof extrusion, that way you get a nice join to it.
The Cable roof infront you can make as a normal pitched roof. Then join the two roofs. You'll get a line precisely where the join, trace this with reference lines. Edit your front roof to follow the ref lines you've just drawn. Make a vertical opening in the extrusion roof on the ref lines. Then all will look good even in section. hope this helps.

The other option is to use a dormer opening after joining the two roofs together. Select the interior lines and the base (gutter) line of the main roof. Trim the three edges and after this move the lower edge outside further down so it completely lies outside the host for a clean cut. Click finish and you have a smooth dormer opening.
