    Axiom Learning Software

Has anyone heard of or used LearningBat software from a company named Axiom out of Florida? It is a software that has learning courses that you can take at your own pace, and can download sample projects as you go. I was wanting a little feedback before I proceeded with them.

    Thanks

I have never used their services but I know the person that did their Revit tutorial videos and he is very good. I did see a sample of two or three of them and they seemed very well done.

edit: now that I read Alf's post I remember that the videos that I mentioned that I had seen were not the Axiom videos. But, he's still relatively proficient

I know him as well. I haven't seen the videos, but he definately knows his stuff when it comes to Revit.

        Welcome to RFO.

I don't think anyone can give you a reference about those videos yet, since they are brand new. Axiom started to show them a couple of weeks ago at the exhibition hall of Autodesk University. I can answer any questions you might have about the academic aspects of the videos, since I am the author. For any other type of questions, please contact Oscar Albornoz at Axiom.

These videos have been made following the same curriculum I have followed during the last 5 years of doing training, both onsite and online.

In a few words, it is a series of videos, divided in 3 levels.
        • Level 1 (12 hours of video) is organized in 12 chapters. This level is dedicated to modeling; we do the house that comes installed with Revit Architecture, the "basic_sample_project", from scratch, until producing a set of sheets with all the necessary views for a design development submission.
        • The Level 2 (12 hours of video) contains 12 chapters as well. It finishes up the modeling topics with Ramps and Ceilings, and then it focuses more into Documentation: some topics of Level 2 are: Details, Design options, Phases, Solids, Families, Teamwork.
        • Level 3 (4 hours) is still under production. It will have 4 chapters. One of the chapters already available is Nested families.

EDIT: I remember that, recently, I answered a question here, using a video as a demo of those other videos. This is the link:
        http://www.revitforum.org/architectu...html#post33255

Attached is one of the sheets created in Level 1, and a screen capture of the video about model families, in Level 2. Notice, on the lower right corner, the list of steps, or workflow, and on the upper right corner of the screen a photo of the object, with some lines on top of the photo, to illustrate the location and role of the reference planes and reference lines used in the family editor.
