Doubling up of DWG when exported

    Hi there.

When I export a sheet with a Ground floor and first floor plan the resulting DWG has both the plans on top of one another.
The same sheet presents fine when printing.

What export setting do I need to change to correct this problem or is it a bug?

    Thanks,
    Craig Howie

Are you saying that when you print from Autocad, the DWG that you exported, it prints fine? Or when you print from Revit it presents fine? When you opent he DWG and view paper space does it show the viewports on top of each other or does it show fine on screen?

You may want to try the "Bind views" option in the export dialog.

      Thanks for the response.

The problem lies with the export out of revit! When I export my sheet from revit to dwg and open it in autocad the two plans are on top of one another.

'Bind views', I dont see that option, could you elaborate!

      Thanks,
      Craig

Hi I am still struggling with this same issue! To add extra frustration when I export on another machine in a different office the DWG exports just fine!
We have looked VERY carefully at the export properties which are the same...
Any idea where the "Bind View' command mentioned above is found? I cant seem to find "Bind View" in the help file...
        Thanks,
        Craig

I don't have Revit opened right now, but in the export dialog box, you have a check mark called "Xref views on sheets". Try to turn it off, while exporting.

Then try exporting to DWF and resave in AutoCAD as DWG.

is this possible? Acad 2011 and earlier versions have no option to open .dwf files ?? I didn't do the 2012 upgrade so maybe a new feature??

I just checked it. It's not under "open", but under "insert" tab in AutoCAD 2011.
You caught me for a moment. I remember that I did that at least once, but it was some time ago, so I wasn't sure where is it.

Of course, you can't actually work on it, but it can be used as an underlay for MEP specialist, if that is needed.

I use dwf's and pdf's for underlays everyday, I just wondered if saving a .dwf to a .dwg had slipped by me somewhere. Guess not...
