    Figured I'd make an intro...

Name's Lee. Grown up around drafting, as dad's done it since the 70's. Helped mom with the family business after dad passed. When she finally closed the doors, I got an interview at an architectural firm and hired on the spot. Couple years later, mom got sick, I moved back and now work for an Engineering/Manufacturing company. Can't wait to get back into Architecture, it was so much more fun.

Been using Revit since 2008, started with Architectural really pushing its limits. Since early 2010 I've been using MEP full time. I still dabble in Architectural to get my Arch models correct for the MEP coordination. I've also started working in Structural as well, learning what I can to build accurate Structural models for the same purpose. Employer requires 3D models, though consultants work AutoCAD, so I'm forced to bring everything to life. I'm currently working in 2012 Building Design Suite Premium.

Picked up Revit pretty quick, as I'd already taught myself a good deal of SolidWorks. The family creation in Revit seemed a lot of the same. I really enjoy the family creation and the rendering. I love building something, giving it materials and rendering it out, it's a nice sense of accomplishment; especially indoor or night-time scenes with artificial lighting. Haven't much came up against anything I couldn't do in Revit. I really look forward to helping others out, and maybe learning some tricks and shortcuts I don't know.

Unfortunately, my thumb drive with all my great renderings took a crap on me one day. I was devastated! I have a few prints I might scan at home, though.

    Anyways, that's me.

Hey Lee way over there across Hwy 46 Welcome to the forum. This will probably get moved to the Introduce Yourself Here thread but in the meantime I thought I'd say Hi to a fellow CA resident. It seems that the Dallas, TX Reviteers are taking over lately so the more from the Sunshine state the better
I'm retired, if you don't like it, go around!

        Haha, thanks for the welcome!

Actually, I have seriously contemplated moving to Dallas. Have a couple close friends there that I miss. However, I have a girl and am seeing about tying myself down. I hate this place, but love her...gotta sacrifice something.

Love always gets in the damn way, doesn't it?
I think that's why call girls were invented.

            LOL!

Now my closest friend is like, "Come to Dallas! there's some apartments available in my complex. I miss you!"

...and I miss all my friends in Arkansuck, err Arkansas.

            It's tempting...
