    Then you would have to manually edit the list for the detail number which I shouldn't have to do.

    But if you really want to add that in the view schedule just "add parameter" and name it detail number as show in the sample image.Click image for larger version

    Just that it will let you put the sheet number of that view, if it's on a sheet in the list though. I could use the detail number in the list too... oh well.

    Hmmm well as you said view list. i think the reason why the detail number is not showing on the schedule is because it not an option for the view, it is just only a reference detail number for your drawing in the sheet. imho

    Does anyone know why the "Detail Number" parameter is not available in a View List schedule? You would think that's a pretty basic choice for a view list, no?
