    Slope Marker

When adding slope marker annotations in elevation views, we've noticed that it will pick up the slopes of not only the roof surfaces, but also the adjoining hips and valleys. Is there any way to make them only pick up the surfaces? Otherwise, it takes a few clicks of the TAB button to find the right one.

This video demonstrates more of what I'm talking about. The roofs are all 8/12, however the slope from the edges are getting picked up (5.something/12):

I've experimented the same thing with floors. But Tab selection works fine for me.

    Guru's solution out there?

You can temporarily hide the items you don't want to pick but tabbing through till you get what you want is the easiest way to get it.

Sure, tabbing through the items is pretty much the easiest way as it seems, but is there ever an occasion that a residential drafter would want to tag the slope of a roof's valley in an elevation view?

Not easy to annotate a surface in elevation view, but possible.
You should try it in 3d view, works fine.

I don't know about Slope markers but with Elevation tags you can just place them and select in the Properties the place you want it to grip. OOTB setting is "as placed" which can be changed in top elevation or bottom elevation.
