Recomendations of U.S. based reseller ?

Just received a bill for my subscription fee (1558 USD), and being inspired by this post, I´m gonna try to contact a U.S. based reseller, and see if I can save a few bucks by buying it "over there"

So, can anyone recommend a reliable reseller ? Or actually just a reseller, as I don´t need any support (I have you guys) or other fancy things - Just want to carry on with subscription, for the smallest amount of money possible

Me too, count me in! Don't actually know if this is possible though regarding the EULA / dealer licenses...
I also don't need the support. My current dealer calls me with their problems.

Not sure how'd you go about transferring your subscription, or if they'd even let you bring it stateside......but if you can, you can try US CAD or Kelar (kelarpacific). I think I've worked with most of the resellers here in LA/socal. We work with Kelar now and they've been very helpful. There's also a new kid on the block AEC Factory that would probably love to get your business.

I'll second that. Been great. Also, Ideate Explorer, a handy Revit plugin, is included with your subscription (normally it's $100 or so, not a huge deal, but it is nice).

Third thumbs up for Ideate. I hope to hear that you can indeed do this.

Would be great if this was all possible. I hope it is. When I checked into it a few years ago, Autodesk rarely allowed exceptions for switching to a reseller outside your "region". It's a deal with Autodesk to protect resellers. Hopefully that's changed.

At the time we started using Revit 6+ years ago, there was only one reseller in our immediate vicinity dealing with Revit (and they weren't very good, which is why I inquired directly with Autodesk).

The reason you can't buy the software directly from Autodesk is all based on an artificial support system for resellers (and resellers in-turn are there to support the software on Autodesk's behalf). And it sucks. It's an outdated model from before the Internet days, and it makes no sense to me (my apologies to the resellers who are reading this ).

We have zero need for the reseller. Once a year they contact us about renewing our subscription (and try to sell us a bunch of support services). That's the only communication we have (or need) with them. It's a bunch of unnecessary paperwork back and forth and it's a drag.

p.s. just so there's absolutely no misunderstanding, don't confuse my issue with resellers with consultants. I'm all for consultants and third-party support services. I just don't think we should be required to buy our software through them.
