    "Create New Local" checkbox is greyed out

    one of our users' computer have this issue, at first i thought it's Revit problem so we reinstalled Revit, but still not working.

    we had major server upgrade yesterday, only this user had all sorts of problems, like license issue, network mapping issue, etc.

    just wonder what causes this kind of problem, i mean when i browsered to central file in mapped network drive, that "Create New Local" is greyed out.

    i strongly suspect it's network related issue like mapping, permission, etc. instead of Revit or that computer issue?

    We've had that issue a couple of times and it is a network issue. If Revit sees a different path in any way, it will thing that the central file is a local file. Just ask your IT guy to set the name to be the same as the old one and you should be set.

        Are you sure Revit still thinks that the file you are selecting is still a central file? If things got shifted around Revit may think this file is a local file and not a central file, which would not allow you to make a local from a local. This seems to have been the case when I have seen this issue come up in the past.

          turned out that user's computer profile is somehow screwed up, it's OK now, thanks all.
