    Revit 2012

So, has anyone got some information on the next release of Revit.
I haven't heard anything about new features, fixed stuff etc.
I am curious as it is normally released around March / April. Is this the case this year?

    Hi Drew,

I completely understand your curiosity about Revit 2012. Unfortunately the product is still under a NDA (non-disclosure agreement), which means no one is to publicly discuss it yet, including on these forums.

I suggest getting involved with the Autodesk Customer Feedback Programs (which is a fancy way of saying the Autodesk Beta program) if you want to participate in Revit's future development.

The last few years, the new version of Revit has been released around mid-April. No one knows for sure yet whether that will be the case this year.

Even if there were some who did not hold to their NDA I would not completly rely on everything. Most have picked up NDA information at this point from AU, but I recall with the 2008 version they talked heavily about new rendering capabilities comming to RAC 2008 at AU and it ended up not comming untill RAC 2009. (it may have been 2009 and 2010 versions) Their development is still not even in Beta yet, so most are goals they are trying to achieve for new releases, but there are always things that get taken out for a later release after Beta testing.

Even those of us who do participate in the Autodesk beta programs don't know what's really going to make it into the actual release (or even when it's shipping) until it ships and everyone finds out.

When it gets closer to release, there will probably be some vague press releases to follow.

So until release, stay skeptical, even if you're part of the beta!

Well, I saw the movie and the world nearly ends. I hope the software has a smaller footprint! I heard the logo is the same!

Oh man, our subscription price this year is gonna hurt if it includes a ticket to one of the uber-barges.

The problem I have is that I will have to upgrade without knowing what is coming because my subscription ends before the usual release time... So I will have to pay even if RAC2012 is the same as RAC2011...

Definitely not going to be the same as 2011. In other words it isn't just 2011 with a new name.

Seeming there is a trend towards it at the moment, I am guessing 2012 will be in 3D!!!
Oh wait, Revit already is 3D, we are already ahead of the times...
