    Railing Toe Plate Extension/Termination

I need to extend the toe plate on a railing system. I'm not seeing an option to execute this in the railing editor or top rail properties. I'm thinking I'll have to "fake it" with another short section of railing or structural framing.

Is this possible with reasonable methods? Any suggested avenues of approach?

Have you tried adding a handrail type with the wall extension?

Interesting. We return those to the wall so they dont become a trip or catch hazard. And we make it part of the extension as nurlan shows.

Looks like you already have a top rail with rail return defined in your railing type. And I assume the bottom plate is a regular rail in your rail type properties. That's why it stops at the post, because it's a regular rail. As Nurlan said, you'll have to do it as a handrail type to make it extend past the end post of the railing.

That was a bad visual example I think. This is more important where a column interrupts the railing and we are not welding the handrail to the column (because the column belongs to equipment).

Thanks everyone for the assistance. I had started messing with the additional handrail type but got distracted. Worked it through some more knowing it was the right path and got it set up.

Now can I automagically cut the toe plate around the specialty equipment column base plate?

            Just kidding...

But if there were a way, I bet it it will be some clever extension dimension adjustments and a custom "support" for the extension.
