    Wall to roof connections

    Hi,
    Is there a way to have the wall "attach" feature stop at the bottom of the roof instead of penetrating through the insulation without changing the roof structure? I know I can put a metal deck at the bottom to stop it, but that's not an option since it is a structural item and not an architectural item. The bottom of my roof is gyp sheathing, but that doesn't stop the wall from penetrating.

    The only way would be to change the Function of the layer "gyp sheeting", or the Function of the wall layer(s).

      Thanks. How do I do that? I know how to change the function of the entire wall, but not the individual layers?

        In the wall Type dialog, where you define each layer... Each layer can be defined with different functions, from Structure to Finish... And when later joining the geometry, the joins will be defined by the functions of the joined layers. Structures joins and cuts thru finishes, and vice verca.
