I tried playing around with it but for some reason its not working for me either, It's like Revit completely ignores that there is an opaque for the label

    EDIT:

Just select the label> edit the text style> duplicate> give it some name> make sure opaque is checked and it should work now

for some reason the label has to be reset so that revit recognizes it has an opaque

Thanks Juan, that looks pretty similar to what I saw when I started playing with it as well. The issue I am running into now with yours and the one that I was working on earlier is that the lable for the sheet has a lower priority than does the pointer family...so when I have a sheet that is RW-101E the text is covered up by the pointer? Any pointers? lol pun intended

I fixed the family, here you go Rebar Elevation Head.rfa

The first issue was that you drew the pointer within the head family.
    1. You have to to draw it as a pointer family and load it into the head family
    2. then you rotate w/ copy checked based on the intersection of the reference planes

Second Issue is your label for the sheet was referencing the detail number
    1. Just changed that in the edit label dialog

Finally, when you insert an elevation into the plan, never rotate the annotation symbol, just select the head and check/ un-check the view that you want to show.

    I hope this helps

So I got the text rotation as I would like, but now the pointer family has priority over my labels in my head family so when I have longer sheet numbers the pointer covers my text?

By any chance did you mirror the section heads? It has happened to me before. I don't remember if it was with a section head or some other annotation but I believe you have to copy and rotate the element so that the label remains as intended but I could be wrong

    Section Head as Elevation

Attached are my two families for my elevation head. I would like the sheet to always be at the bottom of the screen and the detail to be at the top. A picture is attached of how it is working right now (incorrectly). Please someone help me figure out what I am doing wrong!! :banghead:

    Thanks ahead!
