Looks like you need some tweaking, the 5800X should get 85 total in model creation.

      Enabling PBO should help

I feel like there is something definitely wrong with my benchmark, maybe not, but would definitely love to hear any feedback. The first result you will see is my main PC, the one I am using currently and here are the results.

The reason I am concerned for these scores is I have another machine that is a bit older and not as powerful, and yet the scores seem to be better across the board mostly, here are the results for the second machine.

Now I am not an expert, so if these are just the scores and that's how they are then no problem will continue like normal, but I just feel like something seems off, especially the main machine as I see the scores are higher than a lot of machines I see benchmarked here, any suggestions?

That 98 on the i7 sounds OK to me.
That 157 on the i9 is way high.

That being said the i7 has a higher turbo speed than the i9 has, so I'm not sure you will get a lot below the i7's score unless you overclock it a bit, from what I understand they can go pretty high to 5.0 Ghz if you have the right cooling. That will get you in the 80's probably.

That is good to know, definitely thought it was weird to see the i9 get beat out so bad by the i7 as well, albeit I did not know it was at such a high level. I guess in this case, unless overclocking the i9, I don't know if there really anything else to do with the CPU then to make it run better I would suppose. As for the graphics cards, are those looking in line with what is expected, I would think the render benchmark score has to deal with the cards alone, and in that case the Quadro winning would make sense, but want to make sure I am on the right track, really do appreciate your help.

To be clear that i9 should be way faster then the numbers suggest and be close to the i7 as it is right now.

I don't really know how the Graphics numbers compare, but I see that you are running an older driver version on the i9, so updating that might help.

And I have to ask, what are you doing with the i9 machine that made you choose the Quadro RTX 4000 instead of late say a Geforce 3060/3070 or so?

Thanks Robin, I will take a look at the drivers for the I9, as for the Quadro RTX 4000, it was provided to me so I did not have the choice, as I would definitely say going with the 3000 series would be a great choice. But, with things the way they are today, I am glad to even have a card, and getting a 3000 series won't be feasible for a bit it seems.

Just leave the PBO on auto, Revit needs single core speed.

People who are looking at "VDI" solely based on the "cost per seat" are idiots, and i dont bother trying to talk sense in to them.

"Cost of the system" isnt the only consideration. Access, ease of maintenance/patching/security/updating, stability, disparate locations from file storage, etc, are all reasons that using VDI makes sense for some organizations, regardless of the fact that it doesnt perform as well as custom desktops or laptops.

And to be clear: What i call "VDI" is not simple a machine sitting in a server rack, its a pool of virtual desktops provisioned and accessed on the fly, WITHOUT users being persistent on one dedicated VM/Instance/Box. If you are doing persistence, or dedicated session/vm/machine-per-user, at that point youve killed all (or most) of the real benefits of VDI, and (at that point) all you have is computers sitting in a closet, instead of on a desk. That isnt the goal, for real VDI.

But since you asked: 12-20 people per 2U chassis, depending on specs.
Was not looking for a "faux-debate-Marketing-exercise on RFO". We are now building out 8-16 user 3U racks with clocks in the high 4's. I completely agree with you the discussion is not about cost, but about flexibility. Our clients want high-performance vms with plenty of resources for each user. Looks like we are in agreement. No debate required.
