    Ope phasing in an existing wall?

    Hi all,

    Haven't been able to find a solution to this one yet? What is best practice for phasing new opes in an existing wall?

    This is typical of our normal jobs, an exension - we need to knock a large lump out of the back wall. SInce you can't phase a wall opening, I've been demoliting the whole wall and then recreating it in the new phase.

    Is there a better work -round for this out there please?!

    Make 2 walls in the existing phase: one is the wall as it will be post-demolition, and one is the "infill" wall that will be demolished.

      Another option is to create an in place void family in new construction phase and cut the existing wall with it.

        Create an empty window family with only a void in it (or you could also add a cavity closer and finishings) which has instance based dimensions to it.
