    Creating Type Catalog's

    I am working on creating some very basic type catalogs for my door families but keep getting stuck on this. I have a nested family (door hardware) loaded into my door family and I'd like to drive the type of this nested family from the catalog.

    Is it possible to assign a "Family Type" parameter from the type catalog? If so, what is the syntax on that?

    EDIT: DUH, I was just over thinking it, I was simply able to add my family type parameter and assign a value to it by using the ##other## category.

    it's amazing isn't it how ones mind can get clouded by Revit and you think so hard about how to do something you miss the simple solution. Do it all the time here Glad you figured it out

      it is! For some reason I keep expecting the Type Catalog to be more complex than it is, maybe because I am creating it outside of the Revit environment that it seems complicated
