BIM 360 Teams Vs BIM 360

It's really hard to keep track of all the cloud/collaboration things autodesk is offering. Especiually when they all have very similar names! I have used BIM 360 teams, but now I have a new project in something what is called BIM 360. It looks nothing like BIM 360 teams. What happened to BIM360 teams? Is this BIM 360 platform the new BIM 360 teams?

They combined a bunch of different functions under one umbrella... It shouldn't look different unless you are using a different version of Revit, since the UI changed a little. Functionality should be the same. I never used BIM360 Teams though, I went from C4R to BIM360 Design. From what I have read though Design has more permissions over what Team had.

The biggest difference I see is that in teams, I would navigate to the "B" from the file explorer for my model and I was able to collaborate through the save and sync. I guess in Revit 2020 the "B" is featured on the home screen. i'm having difficulty understanding how to link my model to the cloud. How do I navigate to the correct model so my changes are uploaded to the cloud? How do I add it to the cloud? When I sync, its not navigating to the cloud, rather syncing to my local server's central model.

The other thing I cant see in BIM 360 is the plan views and sheets for my model on the dashboard. There's a lot going on the dashboard. A little overwhelming! But it looks very useful. I really like how the 3D models are visible from the platform, and you can high-lite/isolate levels on the model.

BIM 360 Teams is for Revit 2018 and earlier
Although projects already set up in Team will continue to work, that's gone away in newer versions.
The new version is called BIM 360 Document Management
        - 2016 and 2017 only use Team
        - 2018 can use either
        - 2019 and newer Revit versions only use BIM 360 Document Management.

This is greatly over-simplifying things, but the biggest difference is that you can set up permissions in Document Management.
Also, any new features (files other than .RVT, for example) will only be available in BIM 360 Document Management

You're talking about a whole 'nother part of BIM 360
There's also feature called "Publish" where you can Publish your model and view it using a web browser.
As far as where your model is being synched, that process is similar to the Create new Central model.
On the "Collaborate" Tab, there's a Collaborate in Cloud tool that makes your file a "Central" file in the Cloud.

Oh, and BTW, you need (to pay for) a BIM 360 license to use any of this.

            To be perfectly clear:

Revit 2018.3 is the ONLY version that can work in the Old BIM 360 Team (Collaboration for Revit (or C4R)), and the New BIM 360 Design (Revit Cloud Worksharing (or RCW))

            Revit 2018.2 and older...use only C4R/Team

            Revit 2019 and newer...use BIM 360 Design

you are right in that the biggest differences are in the Project Web Page portion of the tools.

In BIM 360 Team/C4R, you had a project hub, where Revit files and more were stored...but in a "high trust" environment where there was very little permissions. Everyone one the project had access to read/write pretty much everything

In BIM 360 Design, you have many more tools and workflows available. BIM 360 Design uses BIM 360 Document Management as the repository for files, including Revit Central files, and Revit published data. With Document Management comes a much more robust set of permissions, with access control, markups, issue tracking, viewing of many different file types, unlimited data storage, 2D to 3D compare, change visualization and more.

Thank you for clarifying... I think got my project going.

This video by Dzan Ta walked me through the foundation elements of this new platform. He's awesome and I love his calming voice.
