View Range - Can you have an exception for a category?

Is there a way to have exceptions for view range settings in a certain view? For example, I have an equipment plan. I want all thing that are in the category "Specialty equipment" to show up on the plan regardless of the view range. This would avoid having to do multiple plan views. I really want to avoid this.

Plan Regions allow for unique adjustments to View Range in specific locations. How your content is built can influence this more though.

Steve's right - families make a big difference. From what you've said it sounds like you have equipment that is above the cut plane? Adding an invisible line in the family that extends to below the cut plan will allow them to show up.

Plan regions can work, but are finicky - I've found that they often need to surround an entire element, which can cause undesirable changes.
