I have linked a dwg to the project and turned off layers that are not needed. Now there is an updated dwg to replace the one already in the project. When the linked dwg is reloaded, all the layers are back on. I've tried turning the layers off in AutoCAD, but they still come in turned on in Revit. Is there a way for Revit to remember which layers have been turned of when reloading the CAD file?

Create a View Template for you Linked Cad views. Go to VG>Imported Categories and turn on/off layers as needed.
Apply the View Template to you view(s) w/ Cad links. Then when you update the cad files, the layer settings should remain.Cliff B. Collins
