    Naming Grid Lines

Hello! Real basic - how do I add a parameter to my Grid family (Grid Head Family) to display an additional line for naming the grid line? See the attached image for clarification. I feel like this should be an easy fix but I can't quite find the right solution that isn't 'live text' in the plans.

If you want a new type for each individual grid you should be able to put a label in your grid head family.
There are no stupid questions, only stupid people

..Tried that unfortunately. There are not parameters available for naming the grid. Only the value of the bubble itself. I'm working on trying to get a shared parameter to work but am not having much success..

Seems to work fine with a shared parameter in your grid head family AND the same one in your project as a Project Parameter as Instance of course.
You just end up with a question mark if you do not name the grid, but that can be fixed with making a second grid type with a different grid head I guess.

That's it! Thank you! I knew it had an easy fix. Got both horizontal and vertical tags working with fresh text!

but now I've en courted another problem - the text placement on the horizontal bands are all goofy. I can't quite seem to find the logic on why Revit is moving my tag...help!

The short answer, it is unlikely you'll get a desired result for every possible orientation of the grid. For example, at a different scale or when the grids are at angles. You might find a happy medium so it works for this project but you'll end up revisiting it again on the next.

It would be easier (more consistent/reliable) to use a different grid circle/shape (or double line, dashes) to identify a specific purpose or grid type.
