Plaster Band around windows

Hi

I need to create a plaster band around a window.

Is there a way to raise a part of the surface of a wall?

I would make the band part of the window family rather than trying to mess with the wall.

I would make it a face based Generic model, not part of the window (just don't like all that extra crap cluttering up my windows family)
