    Schedules

    Hello to you all.
    I have a question regarding schedules. I created a multi-category one, and I plan to include all the doors in my project (I did it this way because I need to include objects from various different families and types). I need my schedule tu include fields associated with doors, but since I created a multi-category schedule (and not one specific for doors) these fields don't appear in the "available fields" section of the properties window. Can anybody help me achieve that? The field I need is "From room" or "To room". Thanks!

    Can you clarify if the reason for the multi-category schedule is because you want to pick up another parameter in addition to the typical door params and the From Room/To Room parameter.......or is the sole reason to extract the From Room/To Room data? I'm guessing you mean the former and not the latter?

    If the latter, it is as simple as changing the "Select Available Fields From" category and you should find the parameters you are looking for. If the former, i don't know of a way to extract that data in a multi-category schedule. I don't think it is possible.

      Hi, thanks for your answer. It's neither of the options you mentioned. I created a multi-category schedule for the doors in my project and I need the fields to include "From Room/To Room", but it doesn't appear in the list of available fields.
      Note: I found myself in the need to create a multi-category schedule because I had doors that came from a veriety of manufacturers, thus they were included in different families and couldn't be all included in the same schedule.

        I don't understand. Unless you have door families that were not created using the Door template, or the family is set to something other than Door, then the Door schedule should pick up all of them.

        Who the heck makes a door family but doesn't have the family type set to Door??

I downloaded a bunch of models from a website (let's not say which one), I included them in my project, my client loved them but when I got to creating schedules I found this problem. And I can't change them for other models because my clients wants THOSE ones. :crazy:

            Edit the family...change the category and assign the elements to the proper category...save back into the project.

              For the time being my doors are all generic models with a field to handle schedule filters.

                    All of my hardscape elements are Roofs.
                    All of my finish Floors are Roofs.
                    Some (but not all) of my Ceilings are Roofs.
                    Some (but not all) of my Ceilings are Sloped Glazing.
                    All of my Windows are Generic Models.
                    All of my coutertops are Generic Models.
                    All of my Generic Annotation Symbols are Generic Models (with Generic Annotations in them).
                    Elevators? Generic Models.
                    Toilet Stalls? Generic Models.

                    But i think my Doors are actually still Doors. LOL. (Just because they worked fine. Not sayuing it matters what category they are, because it doesnt matter at all).
