    Publish Coordinates to Central Model

    Hello all,

Could you please tell me which is the process that I need to follow in order to publish Cooridnates from a Site.rvt georeference file to a central model file_building?

Below I describe the workflow that I did (correct me if I am wrong):

    1. Go to the Site_file and link the latest local building file (in order to have also the latest changes of my building)
    2. Move the link local file in the place that I want > and in the dialog that ask me if I want to save the new position > click Save now
    3. Open in a new Revit session the local file > and syncronize with central file > close the local file
    4. Open the central file creating a New local file.

    Thank you in advance!

In your site model link the building model (link to the central file). Once linked, move it into the proper position, rotate it if necessary. In section or elevation move the link up/down to the correct ground floor elevation (for true site elevation). Once that is done, use Publish Coordinates > select the linked file > use the default name for location or rename it, for example "Published 09/10/2018". Save your work and then choose Save when prompted to save the changes to the linked file. Assuming no error messages appear then the Shared Coordinates have been published to the link.

If I linked in the site file the central_model_building, when I go to save the changes I get the error in the attachment.
This is why I linked the latest local copy in the site.rvt and follow the process that I described.

If there are DWG files linked into the building file, open it and unload all of the links (CAD). Try again. If there are no CAD files linked then follow the steps in this blog post.

          Thank you for you answer,

I unload all the CAD files from the central model_building but the error remains.

In your article you explain the situation that we have the both files central. In my case I have only the building file.

The process that I described in my first post is wrong?..Is there something else that I can do?

          Thank you in advance!

If the building file is a central file then the steps in my blog post are valid. You need to temporarily change the path the site model is using for the central to a local file instead. If you don’t have one yet then create one first. Then return to the site model and start again.

I think that I had misunderstood the secont point
              • Site Model: Change the saved path to the Building's Central File to your own Local File instead '

Do I need to go Manage links > select 'Reload From' and choose the local file?

If yes It works fine now!

Thank you a lot for your time!
