Faced Hosted Family Changing Elevation with Base Offset of Wall

I have various Face Hosted electrical/fire alarm families and in particular case the architect has changed the Base Offset of the hosting wall to -10'-0" to show walls for a crawlspace below. The family in this case is changing elevation following that -10' Base offset. So it was originally placed at 4'-0" elevation...After this architectural model update which changes the base offset of this wall in question the families move to -6'-0". All levels in host model have not changed and are correct.

I assume you’re asking if that’s supposed to happen? Yes, it is. Does it make sense? Yes, and no. Depends on what you’re doing.

There’s a general move away from face based families for this and other reasons.

An unhosted family wouldn’t have this issue but you have to track its location relative to changes in the wall. Pick your poison.

that's good to know. myself and a few others were always under the impression that the elevation of the hosted family was based off the actual level associated not the connected point of the wall. Thanks.

What causes that change? I've seen it in the past and it's always bugged me, but when trying to replicate it just now (2019.0.1) I couldn't get it to move the family when changing the wall base offset unless I change the actual base level.
