    Room boundaries in dormer opening

    Hello,

I have a problem which was already discussed in this forum but there was no answer.

I want to do an area claculation for a house with a lot of dormers. If I use the "dormer opening" tool in the Architecture tab to cut the space out of the roof the room below doesn't fill out the space in the dormer and is not used for area calculation like in the attached picture. The dormer opening itself is still room bounding which it should be not.

Here it is suggested to turn of room bounding of the roof and add room seperation lines, but I don't know how to add room seperation lines and still get the right shape of the roof.

Is there anybody else with the same problem?

    Thanks!

It is an old request but I have just found a workaround.
You can use the opening by face method to create the dormer opening. It works for some reason
It is not perfect though, as it messes up your nice and clean dormers If you don't have too many of them, this might be useful for you and you just clean the openings manually with in-place voids...
