Upgrading model from 2016 to 2018

Do I need to upgrade to 2017 before going to 2018 or can I upgrade models from 2016 directly to 2018 without issues?

I believe it's "recommended" to go one step at a time when upgrading, but I've done many, many projects directly from 16 to 18.
If possible, clean up as many of the Warnings a you can (which is good practice regardless)
Make sure you check the "Audit" box when doing the upgrade.

You can certainly do it afterwards, but it reduces the chance of failure it you do an AUDIT either before or while upgrading.

I've pulled from 12 to 19 without issue several times. Albiet the items being upgraded were fairly simple

Honestly, i go straight to the newer version, and i almost never use Audit. There is rarely a problem with it.

Autodesk also *recommends* you rebuild a template every year. I havent ever done that either, lol.
