Creating Wall Sweeps on Linked file walls

Does anyone know how to do a wall sweep on a wall from a linked file? The wall sweep is looking for a hosted wall to select and since its a link, its not finding a wall to attach to. I also tried it as a custom model-in place as a sweep and same thing. you cant select the 3D path to provide the sweep. Help!!

You cant use the Wall Sweep command, on a wall from a Linked File.

Model In Place Sweep will work fine: You mightneed to specify a work plane before you sketch thepath, but it will work. It sounds like you are trying to to Pick Edges, which i cant say i have tried on a Linked Model. Doesnt sound like a very stable thing to do, though, as the linked files walls 3d edge could change/disappear. My guess is thats why it wont let you.

You could try Copy/Monitoring the Walls into your project, then apply the sweep.
But then you have to manage (2) sets of walls which would not be ideal.
Is it possible for you to just add the sweep in the linked model?

Why are you putting a sweep on a linked model? Depending on the purpose there maybe a diff. way to do it. For example... if you are an interior designer, you may want to make a finish floor for your carpet, then host the sweep on your finish floor.
