    New MEP Connecting to Not Visible Workset

    Using 2018

    I'm trying to do my first project using a workset to do demolition instead of the awful built in phasing. One issue I'm having is that elements I draw in my new work view are trying to connect to "demolished" elements. Is there any way to stop this behavior?

    Dont use worksets for Phasing. Its going to continue to cause this (and other) problems.

        Well, if you do it with Worksets: The connections will all be jacked up, youll have pieces missing where joints are that youve turned off with worksets (which will mean exporting to navisworks will be a mess), your consultants will be irate (they are now stuck managing your model with workset visibility, which they dont want to do), demolished objects dont show up correctly, systems are useless...

        Basically, itll be a disaster.

          Uncheck Automatically Connect when routing the element.

          Loved using Revit phasing when it worked for ducts and pipes. Demolition of systems has been jacked since v 2013 which removed the last of the identification parameters (systems type, name, abbrev, etc.) and thus filtering capabilities between the trades, let alone disconnecting everything. PITA. As much as I despise using worksets for visibility it is a valid solution for the current state of demo debacle.
