GUID error, what do I do?

The shared parameter "049391e0-c9b7-4d13-bcfb-84c309686c1f" cannot be added with name "Nominal width" and type "Length" because it conflicts with the existing name "Nominal width" and type "Number".
The shared parameter "2ec69171-2ed7-43a5-bee7-c504ed385854" cannot be added with name "Weight Net (Kg)" and type "Text" because it conflicts with the existing name "Weight Net (Kg)" and type "Number".
The shared parameter "51ba8e78-a45c-4491-97da-88159bcf2c4a" cannot be added with name "Nominal height" and type "Length" because it conflicts with the existing name "Nominal height" and type "Number".

I don't even know where to start...I have no clue what to do??

What is the context of these messages? Are you creating a parameter?

I'm just trying to load a family from a BIM website - it's a grab bar that is hosted to a wall, fairly basic...I'm not sure where to change these parameters in the family...

Short answer...ignore it. Those values are probably not important to you for now anyway.

Longer answer... The family is using Shared Parameters that are competing with another set of Shared Parameters using the same criteria. You could edit the family and delete those parameters. If the data is more important then look into shared parameters more deeply.

Thank you, the unfortunate part is it wont even let me load the family and I've tried a few different ones that all seem to have a similar error come up. I'm probably going to end up drawing my own bar because I cannot seem to sort out how to access the parameters on any of the ones I've downloaded.

          I appreciate your time!

Remove the parameters from the family by deleting them from the Family Type properties in the family and reload into the project.
If there are a bunch of families that have that same issue, I suggest not to download families from that site again if they are that messed up with just parameters. Then again, I wonder about the legitimacy of their modeling.

(Watch, they are probably imported DWG's or something like that...)

Chicken Dinner, we have a winner. It was really quite simple in the end I must have been googling the wrong terms...thanks to you both! I appreciate your time!

I saw exactly that happen with a student trying to download a shading device from bimobject. Strangely, others had downloaded the same family with no problem or warning of the shared parameter clash. She had no shared parameters in her file.
Come to think of it, it was a project file she downloaded with the family in it. That might be the reason. I will look at her file tomorrow.
