    Content management - which app?

    Hi all,

This is my first post here.... hope I will be here a lot in future!

At the compagny I work I took the responsibility to take care of the family management.
I have been doing some google but would love to here your (revit experts) opinions about it.

I am searching for a nice tool to manage the different family's we use. It has to be simple for experienced and new users. So the front end has to be real user friendly.

The two applications I found and looks nice for the job are:
    - Unifi
    - Content Studio

Anyone in here has some experience with one or both apps?
Any other sugestions about also good or even better apps?

Am I right that "Kinship" isn't available already... they are starting up and at this moment only available at startup?

          - Unifi
          - Content Studio
          - Kiwi Codes Family Browser
          - Kinship
          - AVAIL
          - CTC BIM List Browser/Server
          - CTC HIVE
          - Spectrum Gamut

Opinions vary on which ones are best, depending on features you "like" or "dont like." I automatically rule out anything that requires my content to be uploaded and downloaded from a "Cloud" provider. So CTC BIM List Browser/Server is an easy winner for me, based on that and a few other factors.

I am trying out Bim List Browser to descide if we are going to purchase Bim List Server.
It's a nice browser with a good search option!
Couple things I stumble upon, hope you can make it clear to me.

1.) Is it possible to have a list underneath the family, with all the sizes (from LookUpTable)
-Is it possible te add a tag to a size from LookUp? This because I want to add "article number" as tag to search on.
2.) If 1 not possible, then I suppose it's best to make a family type for each size? This is much more work with building up families and database, but at the front end much more easier for the Revit users?
              - Is it possible te add a tag to a family type? This because I want to add "article number" as tag to search on.
3.) The name of family file has been shown next to preview image, is it possible to change this name to something else (NOT change file name, just change name showing)
4.) Is it possible to turn off the showing of family parameters in the browser?

Looking forward to your findings of the Browser and my questions.

Family Types and Type Catalogs do this currently. Not sure about Lookup Tables.

I apologize: I have no idea what you are saying, here. I dont know what you mean, by "Is it possible to add a tag to a family type..." I use Family Types and Type Cats all the time, and they show up in the browser just fine.

I dont believe its possible to do either.

Thank you for your quick response.
Tonight I am going to dive a little more into the Type Catalog, maybe it's better to let the LookUpTables go and go further with the Type Catalogs.

Another thing I don't like about LookUpTables is that those tables only are for sizes, so no texts can be inserted (except for 1 column with a workaround).

                  I come back to it.
