Ribbon Menus turn into a dropdown

For some unknown reason my ribbons have changed and their menus have turned into a drop down option. This has made things very cumbersome and aggravating. I have uninstalled and reinstalled revit to try and correct it back to its original format to no avail. HELP PLEASE!!!

Click the button at the end of the Ribbon a couple of times until you get back to the view you want for the ribbon tools.

FYI double clicking in the menu bar will also cycle through the each option. You may have double clicked it.
