    Roof Peak

    Is there a way to set a gable roof peak that isn't centered on the roof, while keeping the same slope on both sides? The only work around I was able to come up with was draw two different roofs but i'm wondering if there's anything I'm just missing in the roof edit properties.

    The only way to have an off-centered peak with the same slope on both sides is to have one eave higher than the other. And you can do just that if you pick your slope-defining eave lines and change the "Plate Offset from Base" parameter to something higher or lower than zero.

      Try Roof by Extrusion. Draw the profile in section or elevation, and create the roof.
      Give it a proper depth to extend over the walls, etc.

        I find roof by extrusion to be problematic because it "grows" from the top down from wherever you draw the sketch line. Whereas Roof by Footprint uses the view level and "grows" the roof upwards as one would expect, since the structure layer is normally on the bottom and has to sit at a particular level. With Extrusion I always have to figure out where I want the roof to be, then offset the sketch line by the thickness of the roof to get it in the right place.

          True--but not a huge deal, really. Especially for the roof the OP is trying to model.

            Roof by footprint works too, just requires some math to get the proper heights....or use two roofs as a guide then use align.
