Visible the line of the toposurface in a section view

    Hello,

I want to be able to see in a section the ground line level [ the higher level of the toposurface] having also create the building pads.
    Is it possible?

    Thank you in advance!

Vg turn on topo. Existing or new, whichever one you need. Also may need to decrease depth of section to indicate clearly the natural ground level at that point.

So I need to create 2 phases of toposurface? One existing (without pad) and one new with the grated region option (with the pads?)

Your building pad shouldn't be on the outside of the building, it should be within. If you need to change the terrain to allow for sidewalks, you should modify the toposurface itself to accommodate. The building pad just creates a depression within the topo for a set elevation.

If your topo goes as you have drawn, maybe the Far Clip Offset in the view does not allow you to see it (Properties->Extents). Make the number much bigger in the Far Clip Offset and check if you can see the topo.

However, I agree with what everyone is saying about the building pad. Dynamo also offers the possibility of making more than one building pad, which you can then change the offset level individually.

Mp,, maria might have used the building pad for a walkway around the structure. One caveat though is to constrain both pads to the same reference plane, lr else 'topo leakage' appears. I have done that before as i couldnt use floors because they dont have topo cutting ability. I wish they did. I still use pads for sloped driveways. And then batter or adjust the topo to suit edges. I just wish pads could have subpoints and topo cutting options. Use them for a lot of things then.
Maria if you had an existing topo, and a proposed topo that you have placed the pad in, you could turn your view phase to existing to see the old ground line and detail line it just to show the natural ground level. Then turn your view phase back to proposed. Then you are left with the pad ground, and a detail line above showing the original lie of the land.

Just to clarify for any noobs reading this thread, you don’t have to use Dynamo to create multiple pads on a topo.

I cannot make a detail line to follow the existing topo [the pick line tool doesn't work in order to have exactly the same shape ].Also in some points my existing topo is behind my floor and I am not able to see it. Is there any way?

                Thank you!

If I have the building pad also in my building I will have two 'floors' (the building pad and the floor of my building where I have multiple layers)

It's true, and thanks for clarifying. What I forgot to mention is that Dynamo enables you to create several loops or regions at once, while in Revit you can only create one by one.
