    Intel Pentium+HT(G4560) vs 4core 2200G AMD for Revit/learning

Which would be the better processor IF you are doing rendering on the cloud and are LEARNING Revit/CAD/VideoEditing?

Why do people say that a Pentium's not suitable given that it has comparable SINGLE THREAD performance to the 4-core AMD.
Intel Core and AMD Ryzen processor performance in Autodesk Revit 2018, including both general modeling and rendering performance.

Benchmarks: iGPU Gaming. Updating its entry-level and mid-range product lines, AMD's new Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 3 2200G APUs are set to replace nearly all of the company's offerings...

Historically AMD has always been an inferior solution to Intel as far as CPU COMPUTE was concerned - yes the gfx on the APU is much better but it still only rivals a 1030GTX.

Price wise, factoring in OC+DDR4-3200 for AMD and a 1030GTX+DDR4-2400 for Intel, the price works out to the same for both builds. AMD has a 10-45-100% CPU benchmark advantage (Blender gives 100% but everything else z-zip etc is in the 10-30-45% range)

Intel offers comparable single thread and better graphics IF YOU put in a GT1030 card.

My idea was to buy Intel/Pentium+HT (practically an i3) and provide rendering once the person has picked up some skills. Is this sensible or totally stupid? I know the 2200G is awesome etc etc but it's +7K on the graphics - which can be bought later, additionally I can use just some slow 4GB DDR4 RAM vs more expensive 3200RAM

Man honestly this is a tough question. Both are less than ideal situations. Let me link you with a youtube channel that has done comparisons with both of these ON AUTODESK applications. This will be a personal preference thing. The AMD might have an edge but intel single core clock speed advantage will probably make Revit feel smoother. Anyways, check out this channel!

This is just one of many hardware related videos he has.

ah, seen that - waiting till April 1st week to see what Intel has to offer - i'll probably buy more cores because cloud render is xpensive

If you could save up and get an 8600k or maybe a used 6700k or 7700k that would be great too. Maybe even a used R5 1600x or 1700/1700x will be great too but Intel is king on the single core speeds.
