I am doing all sheets, annotations.. everything in Revit. I am working towards only using CADmep to manage the database, and that's it.

We are currently using it on a couple of projects, but not to the level of actually exporting MAJ files or anything. I'm not familiar with CADmep or the databases since I've never been in a position to use this software. I've done a few edits for adding things like Liner and Insulation and that's it.
So far it's been a good and bad situation. I am looking to take this much further but it's difficult to marry the native Revit objects and Fab Parts together, and sometimes you just have to.
I wonder if there is a growing base for Revit Fab Parts where we can collaborate on? The CADmep guys understand the CADmep side of it. The Revit only guys like me struggle with that part. And the native Revit guys understand Revit, where the CADmep converts struggle in Revit. I also know that the Fab Parts are missing some very valuable tagging capabilities that really have us struggling over here, such as free area size + metal size in a single tag. That's a serious bummer for sending to a drawing to a fab shop for takeoff purposes.
I am pretty versed so far though, so I can jump in discussions on the Revit side of things, but I have lots of questions on managing the database on the CADmep (now just "Fabrication" I think) side of things.

In fact, I'll offer this NAIL27... would you be interested in a possible collaboration outside of this forum? We can do GoToMeetings and speak over the phone and possibly work together on some of these things. I gotta find a guy who understand the CADmep stuff so I can wrap my mind around it, and I'll offer in return Revit support. Let me know, thanks.

I have another question. Currently Revit only allows you to import 1 .MAJ file from CADmep into Revit. With a large project and because we are in transition into revit, do you think that it would be wise to split the project by Floors. Is there any potential problems that you could see this causing? Would appreciate some insight here. Thanks
