Middle Button no longer Pans In Revit 2017

So all of the sudden my middle button does not pan when pushed down....:banghead: in revit 2017...Still works in 2018....most of my project are in 2017.

Super annoying as this feature is crucial when navigating.

I found a few tid-bits on this subject but nothing yet that fixes the issue.

    I am running Revit 2017.2.3 on W10.
I am using a Logitech Performance MX mouse.

Anybody out there experience this and or know how to go about fixing it?

I know that this doesn't help you, but I use the same mouse and have had several projects going in Revit 2017.2.3 for some time and I've never had a panning issue
I'm retired, if you don't like it, go around!

I (reluctantly) abandoned my MX1000 when I started out with Revit (now over a decade ago!) as the Logitech drivers (at least back then) did not support middle button panning.

During my recent pre-move-cull-of-crud I chanced upon it again, and found (much to my surprise) it still a happily working unit, even "properly" (now) in Revit, but that was with PnP/generic drivers, not the Logitech provided ones.... but I've since grown accustomed to - and very fond of - the size/shape/weight of the (cheaper) M500 - so, and because of the MX1000's cruddy dock requiring it's own plug power supply, I threw the MX1000 back into the-box-of-items-I-can't-bear-to-throw-away-but-one-day-will.

To cut an (unnecessarily) long story cut short; try removing, or at least rewinding your Logitech drivers.

It's going to boil down to something external to Revit. Operating System hijacking settings and/or driver issues... A good starting place is rolling back or reinstalling drivers for the mouse...as suggested previously.

In the Logitech setpoint settings, you need to change the middle button function to be middle button.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I don't want to live without the Logitech Options driver with my MX Anywhere 3 because it has so much customization available in the scrolling, wheel speed and roll resistance etc.

And in Revit only, using the middle button mode to pan causes a Zoom all. Annoying! The secret - start moving your cursor and then in the next millisecond engage the middle button... you get a pan and not a zoom all.

I'm surprised that people actually use the mouse wheel as a middle button. Doing that for a few days hurts my hand. I use one of the buttons I can press with my thumb as middel mutton for panning and double click for zoom all. The click function of my mouse wheel is actually turned off for me.

Hmm - this seems to be an occasional bug. After a reboot the problem was gone. I had no success getting the side buttons to actually function as the middle button. Logitech Options allows the customization but it doesn’t work in Revit 2021

I use the Logitech G Hub software and with that you can make profiles for different programs. Not sure how that works in Logitech Options, but if that does something similar, maybe you are changing the button in the wrong profile?
