    Help, Same building different location

    I have a project with 2 building exactly the same, same MEP design same arch etc.. (but in a different location) we have completed one building, but was hoping just to link the other building in and would all be ok. but obviously, the building has moved and moving things all over.

    is there any way of linking it in the place of the old one in the same location then moving all to correct co-ords?

    If it isn't exactly the same...but mirrored... possibly.

    This scenario would allow two locations for the same model:
    • Create a Site Model
    • Architects Model is linked into Site model and positioned so Location 1 is defined
    • Architects Model link is copied and positioned so Location 2 is defined
    • Your Model is linked into Site Model and positioned at Location 1
    • Publish Coordinates to Your Model - Named Location #1
    • Copy the link of Your Model and position it at Location #2
    • Publish Coordinates to Your Model - Duplicate Named Location #1 and rename Location #2

    Now your model has two Named Locations which you can Make Current while working within Your Model. That will reorient Your Model according to its position defined in the Site model. You can print while one Location is current and then make the other location current and print again.

    Now...you'll share more detail which will inevitably toss the above out the window

      I think I understand that there are 2 architects models by the way exactly just in different locations.

        will this work.

        if i link the location 2 building into the site model acquire co-ordinates.

        link in a duplicated MEP model and move it to the same location as the building, and publish the co-ords to the MEP model.

        will it physically move the MEP model location?

          I linked our MEP model into the 2nd Arch model published co-ord to a duplicate location, so there is 2 locations.

          then copy the our MEP model, link in the 2nd arch model and make it current to the duplicate location

          and I get loads of errors of spaces not being enclosed and ducts and pipes moving etc..

          What am I doing wrong, and is there anyway of doing it without this error of things moving..

            Copying/mirroring elements without taking the host will cause all sorts of issues when your elements can't find a new host. No idea really about reversed duct connection but I'm assuming the flow direction doesn't want to work in reverse. Spaces, another referencing issue. 2 published coordinate locations...didn't think that was even possible.
            You might need to rethink your whole strategy.

              is there anyway of getting the model into the same co-ordinates without physically moving it
