    Revit Reveal Hidden Elements Issues

Has anyone encountered the following scenario?

    1. You hide some element in 3d view to improve viewport performance or <insert reason here>
    2. You go back and work on the 3d view and at some point you turn on shaded with edges, shaded or consistent colors.
    3. Now you want to go back and reveal the hidden element.
Screen turns to the reveal hidden elements format (hidden line w/ magenta highlights)
    4. you unhide the element, close reveal hidden elements window.
    5. Now you are in hidden line mode and have to manually activate shaded edges again
    6. Rinse and repeat every time you unhide something.:banghead:

Shouldn't Revit remember the previous state of my viewport prior to initiating the RHE command?

    Good dayJuan.
ic can imagine that this must be frustrating.
Have never had this happen and or reported by my users.
So I went and tried to imulate the issue, but my fews keep to shaded mode and keeps the shaddow.
perhaps if the project file gets realy big, this is a way for Revit to cope with the load.
Hope you find a answer Juan.
    Cheers

I also tried this and did not find the same issue. Are a lot of windows open? My program tends to get buggy if I leave too many windows open. Does it happen in one file, or all files? Does it happen consistently, or intermittently? Right after your open the program, or afte ryou have been working in it all day? You could also try running an audit and reviewing your warnings to see if that helps clean up your file.

Thanks for the replies I will try your advice.

        And yes it happens consistently,
I only have 2 or 3 views open at the time, the file is about 90MB i think (12mb the file im working on and 2 40mb files linked in)

Have you tried to check what grpahic settings are for the link? Also what are the setting for the active view? Are you perhaps using the settings from the linked files and Revit jumbs back to that everytime?
Make sure that the links are using the blobal settings of the active project.
          Goodluck.
What system are you running Revit on?
Have you had this problem with other projects too? Or just this one with the links?

Nevermind, somehow it got fixed. It was prob some sort of memory issue because its working fine now (just restarted my computer a few minutes ago)

            Thanks for the input!
