    Profile twisting with sweep

    I'm trying to create a sweep using a spline through points as the path, and using an adaptive component rectangular profile. The path is curving in different directions, but the resulting form shows the profile twisting towards the end of the sweep. What is the best way to control the profile orientation in a complex sweep? At the top, I want the profile to be oriented horizontally, and it's going vertical. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Anyway to manipulate (rotate) the profile along the path in certain areas or do a loft along a path with different profiles? I've been trying to solve this with Dynamo, but no luck so far.

      I'm rusty on ACs, but I think the issue you're trying to solve has more to do with adaptive points & point orientation than anything automation / Dynamo related. ACs certainly have ways to rotate a profile along a path, but you may need to create more than one path, sweep, etc in order to satisfy the arbitrariness of "certain areas" that you want.

        Thanks Chris. Sounds like that would probably work. I was trying to avoid having an extra step of creating an AC for this. After struggling enough with this, the geometry has been simplified a bit so that I don't need to use the conceptual design environment. Thanks for the reply. I will go back and try the AC in the next week or two just to see if it can do what I wanted.
