Curtain Wall- unable to split panels - any sugggestion?

    Revit2017.
the panel is a system panel, glass.
Whne I trid to add a grd line, the error popped up, impedes me to continue the operation.
That magenta is the DWG behind, I have to spli tht alast panel and then insert a couple of window

It is a new limit/error to me.
It never happened before. I do not understand why.
A workaround should be create a panel with two window in the upper side that requires some time
    instead of just placing windows.
    Any suggestions or solutions?

Hi, Did you already place your windows before split your panel?, it's normal that you cannot do this if the size of the panels don't fit the size of the Panel Family in other words if the panel which you are replacing the System Panel Glass does not have the same value that you splited panel Revit will give that screenshot each time, hope this helps, regards

Thanks for the fast reply, the screen shot instead of explaning better make confusion. The windows are not there. There is only a glass panel. There is not replacing yet. The command is grid.

You are using the Curtain Grid tool correct?

Yes, and I used thousand of times before. The one that has three basic options: all segments, one segment, all except picked.

Hi, I've splited a curtain wall by using 2 different tools See Image, the Split Element Tool (SL) and the Curtain Wall Grid Tool, the only difference is that with the SL command you'll have two separated Curtain walls instead of One which is obtained by using the curtain wall grid only, so try to use a Simple Curtain wall with no Mullions and sub divide that curtain wall, then you can add the mullions, hope this helps

often you are better off not using the mullions and using Andres method above and replacing your entire panel with a panel that includes mullions (or the frame) in it. Same for the door panel, I actually create panels that include all the framing in them and just replace the entire panel but then again I work with fixed/known sizes. I imagine if you are in a concept phase and you need to break up a curtain wall then this method is rather limiting.

that said Im also no facade specialist, there are some other guys here that work on façades that might have a better workflow
