How do you create a ADSKLIB file to identify where Materials are

    Hi Revit Community

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a tutorial that shows you how to create and install a ADSKLIB file to have those materials (bitmaps) show up in the Materials Assets browser?
    Thanks

From HELP, You create one using one of their products, like Revit. You start by creating the file and then add materials from existing libraries.

Added: Only Revit materials can have up to four assets, Inventor has two, AutoCAD has one. Read HELP about sharing between Autodesk applications.

Steve, just to clarify something. Does the new library actually contain the asset images at that location, or does it simply contain the links to where those asset images live?

I believe (each material’s asset) stores the path to the image files, like the provided libraries. The image files need to be stored in an accessible folder. Custom materials and assets frequently suffer from locally stored images.
