    no fittings

    I started a new revit project, drawing walls etc all fine. When I try to run ductwork and or piping the straight runs work but when I angle to make a turn no fittings come in and I can not continue with the run.

    I transferred project standards from a project with mechanical template using manage> transfer project standards. but still no luck

    Yeah, you have to start with a mechanical template, as it has all the families loaded to make things work. It's best to keep Mechanical separate from architectural anyway. It is possible to work both arch and mep in the same model, it's just setting up the template properly before you get started.
