Should I leave Object Style as default? Is that a good way to proceed?

vague question, but I love to use object styles and sub categories to control the vast majority of materials for that category. IE your windows for example, you may have a dozen diff. types of windows all with material parameters set to <by category> So assuming your families are created properly, if you want all your windows to have a white painted frame and clear glass, you would set those materials under object styles and it would apply to all your families without you having to manually edit the type properties for each type. Then you only need to edit any that are unique.Scott D. Brown, AIA | Senior Project Manager | Beck Group

Object Styles don't equate to Materials that you need to show on schedules. OS does give your "(sub)categories" a line weight & a "rendering material" that is not traceable in a component schedule. I do create Materials with Names of abbrev. that I want called out in schedules thou instead of text parameters. Revit w/o Materiality is like the Patriots having Coach Belichick but w/o Tom Brady.Last edited by cftrevizo; December 7, 2017, 08:34 PM.
