How do i create a 'demo hatch?'

Hey everyone I am trying to create a custom filled region (transparent ) to use to show something being demoed. Please does anyone know of a simple way to do this?? I tried making a repeating pattern, but it wasn't dense enough, and took forever. I am trying to make the dashes offset from each other as well. Any detailed explanation would greatly help !!!! I attached an image to show what i am trying to re-create. THANK YOU TONS IN ADVANCE !!!!:banghead:

First question is: Why are you using a Filled Region to show demo?
The "Revit" way to do demo is to set up graphics overrides in your Phases and assign a material/pattern there.

Then, when you demo an element, it picks up the graphics automatically

I had to create one for grid ceilings as I couldn't fine a method of turning the 2x4 grid pattern into dashed lines.

        OK, I'll give you Ceilings.
We've got a Ceiling Type explicitly for 2x4 (and another for 2x2) demo'd ceilings that uses a dashed line for the runners

OP didn't say anything about Ceilings, though.

Sorry Dave, that is correct. Then, how do i create a new pattern so all of the demo elements can show as 45degree off-set dashes !? It is not a choice in my drop-down menu,

Install pyRevit to create the pattern you want, or see attached. I'd create a Filter & apply that model pattern.

hugha- is there a way to create that pattern script within Revit itself without installing this HatckKitCS add on!? I just worry about third party add-ons, as i work for a company, not myself. Forgot to mention, I am a newbie. thanks again for any detailed explanation about how to create a custom pattern within Revit.
